Concrete Overspray Removal

Concrete overspray removal is the elimination of hardened concrete splashes from a vehicle’s exterior surfaces (including paint and glass). 

An acid cleaner is required to easily dissolve and remove unwanted concrete. VANISH is formulated as a non-fuming acid cleaner that is easy to use. When used as directed, VANISH is a safe and effective method to remove concrete splashes from painted and glass surfaces.

The time to remove concrete overspray is dependent on the size of a vehicle, and the intensity and amount of concrete overspray. Once the concrete overspray removal is complete, the areas of application will be clean and free of concrete.

Safety supplies include goggles, an apron, rubber boots, and impervious gloves. You will require a pressure washer to complete this task. View the products used tab for Auto Valet products and accessories relating to this detailing task.

STEP 1: PREPARE THE AREAS OF APPLICATION

Use a pressure washer to remove excess mud and dirt off of the surfaces. Areas of application must be cool prior to the application of VANISH.

STEP 2: APPLY THE CONCRETE REMOVER

Use a spray bottle and an acid resistant trigger sprayer nozzle. Generously spray VANISH onto the areas containing concrete overspray. Allow VANISH to dwell on the areas of application for five minutes. If necessary, for intense applications, gently agitate with an acid resistant vehicle wash brush or a wash mitt.

STEP 3: RINSE THE CONCRETE REMOVER

Use a high-pressure washer to rinse the areas of application and surrounding areas thoroughly. Hold the pressure washer spray nozzle 20 to 30 centimetres (8 to 12 inches) from the surface. The concrete will dissolve and easily come off of the vehicle’s exterior surfaces.

STEP 4: REVIEW YOUR WORK

Review work. For concrete overspray remaining, repeat steps 1 to 3.

Tips

  • Always rinse areas of application and surrounding painted surfaces with cool water before applying the concrete remover.
  • Be sure to carefully read and follow all product instructions and precautions, on the product labels.
